SUMMER WALTZES and the brand new third act to Sean Bovim's spectacular SwingTime and More will be performed by Cape
Town City Ballet (CTCB) at the Barnyard Theatre at Bridge House on Friday 11 February.
CTCB's senior principle ballerina, Tracy Li and partner, Daniel Rajna dance together, along-side other well-known
artists Johnny Bovang, Megan Swart, Robin van Wyk, Mervyn Williams and Andre Sauer.
This popular production follows on the success of CTCB's SwingTime at the Ballet which premièred at the Artscape
Theatre in December 2003 and was presented at the Barnard Theatre in February 2004.
This year, choreographer Sean Bovim has created a whole new act, adding more swinging good times to the year-old ballet
that is already an established Cape Town favourite.
Drawing on the diverse talents of the Cape Town City Ballet dancers, SwingTime and More incorporates styles such as
tap, jazz, swing and big-band show dancing.
This will be followed by some of the best loved waltzes from ballets which include Coppelia, The Sleeping Beauty and
The Nutcracker.
Veronica Paeper's hugely popular The Emperor Waltz, first choreographed in 1986 on Clare Shepard-Wilson, Keith
Mackintosh, Janet Lindup and Allison Foat.
This waltz makes a comeback with the younger artists of the company, along with the much loved Waltz of the Flowers
from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker.
Also being performed are David Poole's Sleeping Beauty, The Fiancèes from Swan Lake, Cecily Robinson's Waltz of the
Hours from Copelia and Norman Furber's popular Raymonda, Waltz and pas de deux.
