THE Boland 2004 Chess Open tournament will be held at Courtrai Primary School in Paarl South tomorrow and Saturday. The first four Boland players in the Open will qualify for the provincial colours and teams.
There will be a junior event specially for under 14 children on Saturday.
Registration opens on Friday at 17:00 (R30) and the tournament starts at 19:00. Chessa membership is R25 u.21.
The junior section on Saturday is also open to adults, but only under 14's get prizes, and no Chessa membership is required. Registration (R15) starts 07:30.
