Trio at Nederburg |

THE popular Kerimov Trio will be performing at the Nederburg Manor House on Sunday at 17:00.
They will play a selection of works from Claude Debussy, Dmitry Shostakovich, Pablo de Sarasate, Rimsky Korsakoff, Astor Piazzolla and a few other favourites.
This is their first performance in the Cape. The virtuoso Russian violinist, Elena Kerimova and husband Boris Kerimov (cello) are accompanied by South African pianist Christopher Duigan. |

The next two concerts in this series are the Italian pianists Paola Bruni and Pasquale Iannone on 24 August followed by Anouk Espi (violin), Christoff Fourie (cello) and Liezl-Maret Jacobs (piano) of the Endler Trio who will be performing on 21 September.

EMILE MINNIE, lid van die duo Vlam, is môreaand om 20:00 in die Ou Meulteater in die Paarl met 'n eenmansvertoning van liedjies in sowel Afrikaans as Engels.
Minnie se vertoning is vanjaar op Oudtshoorn beskryf as "skitterend, met treffende lirieke wat aan poësie grens en sterk wysies, afgewissel met 'n tong-in-die-kies, skerpsinnige teks".
Sy liedjies handel omtrent ervaringe in die hedendaagse bestaan: die vreugde, hartseer, skoonheid en humor rondom ons.
Hy begelei homself op die klavier, en sy begeleiding verleen aan sy vertoning diepte en intimiteit.
Vlam se CD Bevonk! is benoem vir twee Geraas-toekennings (Beste Nuweling en Beste Duo) en is beskryf as een van die hoogtepunte in Afrikaanse musiek.

THE first half of La Motte's 2003 music programme will be concluded with a piano concert by Christopher Duigan on Saturday evening at 19:00.
Winner of the Unisa Music Scholarship Competition in 1994, Duigan also won the award for the best South African pianist, in the UNISA International Piano Competition (1996).
After a very successful concert tour of England and Scotland in 2000 he was subsequently invited to perform at the Edinburgh Festival in August 2001.
Duigan is committed to an entrepreneurial approach to classical music performances and has been commended for his efforts in bringing classical music to the people of KwaZulu-Natal.
The programme will include Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody no 12, Reminiscences di Lucia di Lammermoor and La Campanella, as well as Händel's Chaconne.
The concert starts at 19:00 in La Motte's historic cellar.
On their arrival, guests will be welcomed with a drink. Each concert is concluded with a get-together where concertgoers can mingle with the artists. Admission is R85 per person. Book at the tasting venue or phone 876-3114/9 (Comari). |

THE Barnyard Theatre at Bridge House School near Franschhoek this weekend presents "Glory Days - the Magic of the 70's and 80's".
"Glory Days" is an energetic 70's and 80's musical showcase that features a nine-member cast of talented musicians and singers.
Ian Von Memerty has brilliantly scripted a show that brings to life Wally the Computer Nerd re-living the seventies and eighties, who wants to be a rock 'n roll star like his hero Bruce Springsteen.
It features music from Lionel Ritchie, Madonna, Bob Marley, Tina Turner, Shirley Bassey and more.
