Cecil Skotnes, Beezy Bailey and Francine Scialom Greenblatt. The talents of Arlene Amaler-Raviv, Tyrone Appollis, Willie Bester, Kevin Brand, Paul du Toit, Louis Janssen van Vuuren, Mark O'Donovan, Selwin Pekeur (pic) and Jill Trappler will also be showcased, along with crafters Khoni Ndludli and the crafters' collective, Hands, from Somerset West.
Two of the cans feature beautiful and colourful collages made up of reproductions of individual drawings by children from 80 Western Cape schools.
Local students whose drawings were selected are Celeste Williams (Grade 5) of Dalweide Primary, Anescha Smith (Grade 5) of Gymnasium Primary and Sean Hanna (Grade 6) of Paarl Boys' Primary and Mikhaila Jephtas-Craul (Grade 3) of La Rochelle Primary.
The transformed cans represent a delightful melange of styles and approaches, ranging from ethnic to whimsical to utilitarian.
Three days before the close, on Wednesday 26 May, the 14 cans created by the artists will be auctioned off.
All funds raised at the auction will go towards feeding some of the many thousands of disadvantaged primary schoolchildren. |

|
|
 |
|
 |
Bespreek by Ansie, 873-4710 of 084-335-3701. |
