PATRONS at the Barnyard Theatre at Bridge House are in for a treat when Mark Banks shakes up a cocktail of satire and comedy in an
exclusive television special which will be screened on SABC 2.
South Africa's foremost comedian will be serving up his finest on 10, 11 and 12 December.
Banks started his career as a solo satirical review artist in the early 80s. His first show We're Not On Top - We're Inside, brought
him to the comedy stage forefront as an incisive satirical comedy voice in South Africa.
Over the past two decades Banks has never been at a loss for words in response to current events, whether it be social, political,
environmental or everyday issues.
When asked about the show's content, Banks said: "We have our own unique comedy that allows us to be creative and more importantly, as
South Africans we have the ability to laugh at ourselves, so it should not be taken offensively."
There will be a special matinée performance on Sunday at 12:30 for 14:00. Tickets available from Robyn Watkins, tel/fax 874-1505 or
082-371-3267.
