THE famous and magnificent Artscape marionettes come to vivid life again under the direction of Keith Anderson, in a play by Alfred Rietmann. Tickey and his friends can be seen at the Artscape Arena, morning and afternoons (11:00 and 14:30) from tomorrow to 8 January. This is a show that no child should miss. It makes use of trick puppets, which are a highly specialised form of marionettes. The action of the play takes place in a circus where Tickey the Clown is best friends with Zizi the Zebra. However, Zizi goes missing. All the circus performers are too upset to perform. And so, with the help of the audience, the circus sets out on an exciting and interactive adventure to find Zizi. DIE leerlinge van Hugenote Hoër en Drakenstein Laer het vandeesweek die hand diep in die sak gesteek. Drakenstein het R300 aan die Paarl Post Opelugfonds geskenk om minderbevoorregte kinders te help. Hugenote Hoër het R1000 geskenk uit die opbrengs van hul Kersliggieprojek wat bestaan het uit 'n toer van huise op Wellington wat vir Kersfees versier is. Dit bring vanjaar se insameling te staan op R4038,06. Die fonds, wat onder beskerming staan van die ACVV, samel fondse in vir die ontspanning en voorligting van die jeug. Kinders word deur die Opelugfonds betrek by kampe en seminare waar aandag gegee word aan misdaadvoorkoming, gedragsopvoeding en bewusmaking van die gevare van dwelms en Vigs. Elke skenking, hoe klein ook al, word verwelkom en word in die plaaslike gemeenskap teruggeploeg. CAPENATURE'S very first Environmental Youth Seminar, hosted by the Boland Mountain Business Unit, will be held on 22 March at Antoniesvlei, Wellington.
