Jannie Moolman sings

[ Top ]

ACCLAIMED tenor Jannie Moolman will perform a new show called 4x4 No Tracks, encompassing a wide range of music from Neopolitan classics, Afrikaans ballads to ever-popular opera arias, at the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre from 13 to 15 January.

As the title suggests, 4x4 No Tracks aims to offer off the beaten track interpretations of much loved Neopolitan classics - this also means no backing tracks, but pure live onstage talent.

This includes a tango-driven O Solo Mio with a song repertoire ranging from standard light classics to Koos du Plessis and Josh Groban.

Tunes sure to linger are the poignant theme from Schindler's List and the memorable tango from Scent Of A Woman. Other important highlights include two of Astor Piazzolla's compositions, Libertango and Oblivion.

Moolman is accompanied by talented musicians, Deveroux van der Hooven on piano, Annaka de Villiers on the electric and classic violin with award-winning Juan Oosthuizen on guitar.

4x4 No Tracks will be performed for the first time ever in the Cape. For bookings and information call the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre on 809-7380.  For information visit www. oude libertas.co.za.

Veronica Paepers hugely popular The Emperor Waltz, first choreographed in 1986 on Clare Shepard-Wilson, Keith Mackintosh, Janet Lindup and Allison Foat makes a come back.

This waltz will be performed along with the much loved Waltz of the Flowers from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker.
