Help for streetchildren

[ Top ]

wwilmot14"DON'T give the street kids money, it just keeps them on the street another day", is what we are told, but what is the alternative?

There is still no shelter for these children in Paarl.

The Wilmot Africa Project, with assistance, has managed to obtain a venue for day use, in order to identify street kids, their circumstances, offer nutrition on a daily basis and begin to bridge the education gap in order to get

them back into school and hopefully eventually reintegrate them within their family or other loving, supportive

environment.

Now, instead of turning your back on another kid begging for money, you have an alternative (solution) and can refer them to a place that will provide

STREETCHILDREN. Wilmot Africa Projects (WAP) has opened a daycare centre for streetchildren in Lackay Street behind Food World in Paarl East. The children are kept occupied with small jobs and they are also encouraged to go back to school. With some of the children is the co-ordinator of the project, Anthony Africa

food. Once there, they will be exposed to opportunities that provide self-worth, hope and much more.

Day-care is a wonderful step in the right direction. Many individuals and organisations have been trying to make a difference for years. If street kids bug you, refer them to the day-centre in Lackay Street, behind Food World in Klein Drakenstein Road.

Should you wish to assist with teaching, groceries, toys, clothes or any other contribution, phone 862-9125 or 082-844-2804.

Pryse vir Paarlse brakke

[ Top ]
