THE Athlone Institute Trust will again be granting bursaries for tertiary students who live in Paarl and Mbekweni areas.
A maximum of 20 bursary loans will be available to first year students with serious financial need, and who obtained a minimum aggregate of 950 in the matriculation examination.
The Trust will also grant a number of bursaries for tertiary students from their second year onwards. These bursaries will be awarded on academic merit or financial need of the applicant as primary considerations.
The fund has provided bursaries and bursary loans to promising and needy students for the past five years.
By the end of this year the trust will have assisted a total of 334 students to the value of R926 000 at various registered tertiary institutions in South Africa. Application forms and information are available and can be obtained at the offices of the Bethel United Congregational Church, Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Immanuel VGK, St Stephen's Anglican Church, Zionskerk and the Mbekweni Methodist Church.
Completed application forms must be forwarded to the Secretary, PO Box 846, Huguenot, 7645 by 16 January. |
