PETE gets chosen for the under eighteen Protea cricket team, but due to circumstances, he is unable to contribute the required amount of money for the tour to Australia.
His friends decide to help out and raise the money he needs.
Follow the get-rich-quick-schemes of some of the schoolfriends who show that with a little planning and a lot of confusion, a friend in need still proves to be a friend indeed.
This is the theme of "The Play: You're Upstaging My Cue", a drama which will be performed in the Paarl Boys' High school hall on 25, 26 and 27 August.
Tickets are R15 (30 for adults) for these three evening.
On 28 August there is a performance just for adults, chees and wine included (R30).
The play is written by Henri Kriel and directed by Wiwe Ras-Pretorius.

CAPE TOWN OPERA will start touring into the country again as part of the Spring Opera Festival 2003.
With generous sponsorship of The National Lotteries Board, Cape Town Opera will after a long absence pour their golden voices over the country-side in Franschhoek, Caledon, Swellendam, Darling, Robertson, Knysna and Hermanus.
The Opera Country Tour will be hosted at the Barnyard Theatre at Bridge House on Tuesday 2 September with their Opera Pops Programme.
The prestigious Cape Town Opera Studio will appear in the programme.
Opera Pops comprises operatic favourites such as The Drinking Song from La Traviata, Musetta's Waltz song from La Bohéme, as well as old time favourites from musicals such as ShowBoat and West Side Story.
For some red hot flavour a selection from the musical Chicago has been included. Ticket prices are R60. Bookings with Robyn on 874-1505. |
