Kaasliefhebbers kan uitsien na 'n kaaservaring soos min op die SA Kaasfees wat Saterdag tot  Dinsdag op Bien Donné gehou word, met heelwat meer ruimte as verlede jaar en volop kindervermaak.

Kaartjies vir die genoeglike ervaring van kaas, wyn, kos en vrolikheid is tans teen die afslagprys van R55 beskikbaar by Computicket en toerismekantore, maar die prys styg Saterdag na R70.

In die opelug Fynproewerslaan staan restaurant- en wynstalletjies sy-aan-sy vir dié wat honger en dors is. Die Brawou! Orkes in die Musiek Gazebo, sal weer bydra tot 'n atmosfeer van groot joligheid.

Die Kaas Werkwinkel is 'n splinternuwe trekpleister, waar entoesiaste die eeue-oue kuns van kaas maak stap-vir-stap kan volg en oor die verskillende soorte kaas kan leer, sowel as hoe om hulle te geniet met komplimenterende geregte.

By die Demonstrasiekombuis - wat in 'n permanente gebou met plek vir 200 mense ingerig word - sal welbekendes hul slag as sjefs toon.

Verskeie tipes melkkoeie, melkbokke en melkskape sal by die Melkfabriek geskou word. Hier sal jonk en oud hulle kan verwonder aan die melk van koeie en bokke, die proe van skuimende vars melk en demonstrasies van tradisionele botter- en maaskaasmakery.

Die hekke sal van Saterdag tot Maandag van 10:00 tot 18:00 oop wees en Dinsdag van 10:00 tot 16:00. 'n Handige inkopiesak en volkleur feesprogram sal as gids tot hierdie grootse kaaservaring bydra.

'n Afslagtarief van R35 vir senior burgers sal slegs Maandag geld. Kinders onder 12 jaar word gratis ingelaat.

INDIEN jy borskanker gehad het en een jaar of langer reeds skoon is, kan die Kankervereniging (Cansa) jou gebruik. 

Cansa beskik oor 'n borskanker ondersteuningsgroep wat bekend staan as Reik na Herstel. 

Hierdie groep vrywilligers het almal self 'n mastektomie ondergaan en lewer 'n ondersteuningsdiens aan alle bors -chirurgie pasiënte. 

Borskankerpasiënte word pre- en post-operatief in hospitale wat mastektomies doen, besoek en waardevolle ondersteuning word op so 'n manier gebied. 

'n Opleiding word beplan vir einde April wat hierdie ondersteuningsgroep sal aanvul. 

Skakel vir Ingrid Rossouw by 872-5550 indien jy belang stel om betrokke te raak of as jy ondersteuning benodig. 

Indien jy graag by 'n ander ondersteuningsgroep betrokke wil raak, kan jy met Mareé Lambrechts by Cansa skakel, 876-3589 gedurende kantoorure.

* Cansa soek ook dringend na mense wat reeds vir een jaar of langer opgehou rook het. Hierdie mense sal betrokke raak by die ondersteuning van rokers wat graag wil ophou rook. 

Indien jy kans sien om ander mense tot 'n gesonder lewe te lei deur hulle te laat afsien van hierdie gewoonte, skakel vir Mareé Lambrechts by 876-3589 gedurende kantoorure. 

Ondersteuningsgroepe vir mense wat graag wil ophou rook, sal vanaf Mei in die Paarl- omgewing gehou word.

Die blommekuns van volwassenes sowel as kinders sal te sien wees en verversings is te koop.

Die deure is die Saterdag oop van 13:00 tot 18:00 en die Sondag van 11:00 tot 17:00. Toegang is R10 (kinders o.10 R2).

ON Sunday 2 May millions of people across barriers of race, colour, language or denomination will join in prayer at 70 differents in South Africa as well as 60 stadiums (28 different countries) in Africa to pray for transformation in Africa.

This is the third year the day is presented.

The African Transformation committee of Boland invite all Christians to attend the local Day of Prayer program at Daljosaphat Stadium, Paarl starting at 14:00.

"The Continent of Africa is in desperate need of transformation and it is an issue that we can no longer avoid," says Junita Engall from Boland Transformations.

The event will be broadcast live on DSTV channel 77 (TBN) and SABC 2 and will be shown to millions of people in Africa and even as far as Europe.

* Entrance to this event is free of charge, an offering will be taken the day of the event.

FOOD and wine lovers are in for a treat when the ninth annual Cape Gourmet Festival takes place in Cape Town from 7 May.

Part of the Gourmet Festival is Laborie Restaurant Week, which will see the Cape's top restaurants open their doors to a fortnight of delectable dining from May 7 to 22.

* The Tastic Table of Unity takes place on May 16 and will see key religious leaders, top celebrities and South Africans from all walks of life celebrate a day of peace and come together to pray for peace and unity in our beautiful land. 

* The grand finale - the Gourmet Signature Banquet - happens on May 22 and is a black-tie affair with a memorable gourmet meal prepared by the international chefs. 

This gala event will include world-class live entertainment and a charity auction, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross Children's Hospital.
