DIE splinternuwe Drama Trio Co wat pas in die Paarl geloods is, se aanbieders is Estelle Venter, Anél Scheepers en Elsabé‚ Aldrich.

Hulle is al drie gegradueerdes van die Dramadepartement van die Universiteit van Stellenbosch en is ervare dosente, beoordelaars en opleiers.  

Nog vele bekendes uit die toneelwêreld soos Johann Nel, Elsabé‚ Daneel, dr Niel le Roux en Vive Pretorius gaan genooi word om die kursus te verryk met hul talente.

Hierdie prettige kursus word hoofsaaklik in die Paarl aangebied met satelliete in omliggende areas, indien die belangstelling dit verg. Dit volg die skoolkalender en strek oor nege maande van Februarie 2005.

Die klasse behels een twee-uursessie per week. Daar is gemengde groepe van graad 6 en 7-leerders, hoërskoolleerders en moontlik ook 'n volwasse groep.

Dit is ideaal vir alle kreatiewes van gees wat belang stel in die ontwikkeling van verhoogvaardighede. Die doelwit is om al spelende van jouself, ander mense en die opwindende wêreld van die verhoog te leer. Fasette wat aandag sal geniet is, teksvertolking en stemprojeksie, praat voor mense, kreatiewe beweging en die skryf, saamstel en opvoer van 'n verhoogproduksie.

AWARD-WINNING diva Amanda Strydom will open the 2005 Oude Libertas Summer Season with her new show "Mooiweer en Warm", a furnace of rock, blues and ballads running on 1, 3 and 4 December at the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre, Stellenbosch.

Described as 'magnificent in the superlative degree' at the recent Aardklop festival, Mooiweer en Warm is a feel good musical spectacular in pure celebration heat, warmth and the weather of summer. 

The repertoire includes new songs by Strydom as well as classics performed with new artistic arrangement.

The show opens with the title track Mooiweer en Warm moving onto work by Hennie Aucamp, Cat Stevens and the Eagles. 

A rendition of George Gershwin's Summertime will be performed in Zulu, written by Concord Nkabinde as well as songs by Dutch lyricists Eugen Gaiser.

Strydom is accompanied by musicians Janine Neethling (keyboard), Juan Oosthuizen (guitar), Graeme Currie (bass guitar) and Vinnie Henrico (drums). Backing vocalists are from the cult South African a Capella group Cutt Glass and include Bondina Osterhoff, Karen Meiring and Karen Wessels.

DIE Oukraal Kunstefees word vanjaar op Vrydag 3 Desember en Saterdag 4 Desember in die Polisiekollegesaal aangebied, as deel van die Liggiefees.

Een van die hoogtepunte is Saterdagmiddag om 14:30 wanneer Lana English, wat die hoofrol in Phantom of the Opera gesing het, en haar broer Victor otree in 'n program van ligte musiek. Toegang is R30 (bespreek by Angela, 073-198-6774.

Die program begin die Vrydag om 20:00 met 'All that Jazz'. Kaartjies by 082-894-1024. Om 21:30 is 'Rock 'n Roll to Funk' aan die beurt (083-629-1738). Die Saterdag se program begin om 10:00 met 'n optrede van Anneline en Bennita (082-804-5698).

A TALENTED young singer from Paarl, Sean Jacobs (13) is in the cast of "Wa' Was Djy", a documentary, multi-media musical focusing on the Coloured recording artists of the 60's and 70's.

"Wa' Was Djy", started in the Artscape Arena on Tuesday and will run untill Sunday.

`Applauz!' is the brainchild of  singer and entertainer, Natalia Da Rocha. It is  a workshop for talented youngsters that culminates in a performance.

Sean Jacobs was one of the new intake of young entertainers. He is a well-known name in Paarl, winning the beginners' section of the KWV Talent Competition in 2002 and also the star in Randall Wicomb's show, "Oos Wes Tuis Bes". He and the rest ot the cast attended workshops and received tuition in voice production, an introduction to Entertainment Law, choreography, style and image and recording techniques. 

The research by the cast into the lives of recording artists such as Jonathan Butler, Ronnie Joyce, Zane Adams, The Rockets, Dollar Brand and others, will be an exciting exercise into the political background of the time.
