IT is estimated that one in three children will be abused during childhood. In an effort to eradicate this problem in our society, the Hands Off Our Children (HOOC) campaign aims to educate and empower people against abuse. HOOC's schools outreach programme consists of a five pillar strategy that also includes a parental guidance programme, a victim support programme, a multi-disciplinary training programme and the internal promotion of co-operation between the various governmental departments. On Monday Hooc visits Klapmuts Primary, Joostenberg Primary and Bergendal Primary. Tuesday they will visit Franschhoek Primary, Wemmershoek Primary and Weseind Primary. On Wednesday they visit Groendal Primary. On Friday 6 February they visit Bergrivier Primary, Voor Groenberg, Blouvlei and Wagenmakersvallei. On 9 February it is the turn of Soetendal, Groenberg, Hugo Rust and Hugenote. On 10 February they go to Newton, Pauw Gedenk, St Albans and Berg River High. On 11 February they visit Wellington Primary, Weltevrede High, Hugenote High and Hillcrest Primary.
