The driver of the car, Mzuvukile Sishuba (49) of V Block 2719 in Mbekweni, died while his two passengers survived the horror crash.
Vivian Kampies (20) of 81 K Block, Mbekweni and Tersa Hanabea (19) of Khayelitsha, were treated for multiple injuries at the Paarl Hospital.
Lintnaar had been a teacher at Charleston Hill Primary since the school's opening 15 years ago.
"She was much loved and will be sorely missed," colleague Vincent Parrott said this week.
"She had such a wonderful sense of humour."
Grieving pupils were dismissed early on Monday, in honour of their deceased teacher.
Apart from her Grade 2 class, Lintnaar was in charge of cultural activities, music and the school tuckshop.
A widow for eight years, Lintnaar leaves three daughters, Heidi (26), Raylene (21) and Elista (14), a pupil at New Orleans Secondary School.
A prayer service will be held at the Lintnaar home in Aurora Street, Newton at 19:00 tonight.
The funeral service where her choir students will participate, is at 14:00 on Sunday in the Ceres VGK.
It follows a service at 13:00 at her mother's home in 42 Albert Crescent, Ceres.
Sishuba comes from a family of teachers. His wife teaches at Langabuya, and his brother-in-law, Timothy Ndzuzo, is circuit manager of education. His sister, Boniswa, is a Drakenstein town councillor.
Sishuba had been teaching Afrikaans and History at the Khayamandi High School at Stellenbosch since 1991.
The staff at the school this week recalled his "smile and his jokes". He played a leading role in sport, especially the training of soccer and rugby players.
Members of the governing body and teachers of Kayamandi High visited the Sishuba home to pay their respects last night.
He leaves his wife Thobeka, and their three children Nwabisa (25), Bongani (19) and Siphelele (7).
The funeral service is being arranged for next week |

Ambulans rol by Klapmuts |
|
|
 |
|
 |

|
|
 |
|
 |

|
|
 |
|
 |
"Hulle was erg oor hom by die werk. Sy skoolmaats was so ontsteld. My kind sou volgende maand 21 geword het."

A UNIQUE public/private partnership has been formed to redevelop the central business district of Paarl.
The landmark agreement between Drakenstein Municipality and local landowners to redevelop and upgrade Lady Grey Street between Main Street and Verster Street was signed yesterday.
The plan includes the closure of a part of Lady Grey Street and New Street and redevelopment of the streets as well as surrounding squares such as Patriot Square and Van der Lingen Square, because of the urgency to retain anchor tenants in the area.
The purpose is to stimulate economic activity in the area and restore a sense of pride through improvements, redevelopment, cleanliness and the safety and security of the property owners and visitors to the area.
This will create employment and trade opportunities, reducing poverty in the town.
An Urban Renewal Steering Committee was created to oversee the process on behalf of the Municipal Council, with four municipal representatives and four representatives of property owners.
Representing Council are councillors Herman Bailey (mayor), Anthea Sheldon (deputy mayor), Arthob Petersen and André vd Spuy de Villiers.
Four representatives will be nominated by the property owners, who are advised by property developer Johan Pauw.
Council will appoint a project officer to liaise with the committee and carry out the duties and responsibilities for the contract on behalf of the Municipality.
The Committee shall be entitled to invite the national and provincial governments to appoint one representative each to serve as advisors in an ex officio capacity (without voting rights).
The Council shall arrange for the appointment of a public forum consisting of representatives from the community on behalf of non-governmental organisations and diverse interest groups.
"The CBD of Paarl is an invaluable component of the local economy of Drakenstein, providing jobs and services to a large part of the population," said Mayor Bailey.
"Council is therefore committed to making it a safe and clean place for our workers, business owners and shoppers.
"The redevelopment of the CBD would also make Paarl a major tourist attraction and a place where business would like to be located.
"By forming this partnership we believe we will be able to harness the energies and talents of both teams to help us meet our social and economic objectives.
"As the largest municipality in the Western Cape after Cape Town it is vital that we have a vibrant and prosperous Paarl.
"The partnership will start a unique process that could set a precedent for many other towns and cities in South Africa.
"We appeal to all residents of Paarl and indeed of Drakenstein to give this project all their support and co-operation when construction begins."
The project will be subject to National Treasury Regulations concerning public/private participation to ensure that it is viable.
Johan Pauw, CEO of the development company Paarl CBD Investments representing the property owners, estimates that the project could inject R200 million into the CBD during the first phase alone.
Pauw said the state of decay and ongoing deterioration of the Paarl CBD was indisputable.
"If the situation is left unchecked, it should be anticipated that there is a real threat that key anchor shops will relocate.
"This development plan forms part of a bigger holistic plan for the redevelopment potential in the Paarl/Wellington area on the table, as well as a plan for Lady Grey Street.
* On Tuesday morning 11 May at 07:00 Johan Pauw will address a meeting of the Paarl Sakekamer at Laborie Restaurant on the project. To book phone 872-6528 by tomorrow. |

Cargo confiscated |
|
|
|
THE distinct smell of dagga drew curious glances at the Paarl police station last week.
While policemen strained to extract five 50kg bags of dagga from a battered green Toyota, the two alleged drug smugglers hovered forlornly again a wall.
According to regulations, the suspects have to watch every move made by policemen.
The men, both from Cape Town, had been travelling on the N1 on Thursday when they spotted a patrol vehicle with Paarl East Police Insp Cornelius Solomons and Const Jonty Davids.
The suspects sped into Paarl East and drove along Regent Street until they hit a dead end at the Paarl East swimming pool, where they were both arrested after a chase on foot.
Their car, crammed with black plastic bags leaving barely enough space for the driver and passenger, was taken to the Paarl police station.
There the cargo, valued at more than R150 000, was marked, sealed and stored for safekeeping for the duration of the trial. |
