Celebrate Lollipop Day

[ Top ]

YOUNG and old across South Africa can stand together and show their support for people with physical disabilities by entering into the spirit of Lollipop Day on Friday 7 November.

This is a brand new concept launched by Game Stores, the SABC and the National Council for Persons with Physical Disability in South Africa (NCPPDSA) to raise awareness of the needs of this often overlooked sector of the population.

Lollipops are on sale in all Game stores and NCPPDSA offices and will be available until Lollipop Day.

By making a R2 donation, each and every South African can show that they care and also stand to win big prizes.

The Association for the Physically Disabled (Western Cape) can be contacted on 555-2881.

How weird is your pet?

[ Top ]

A SOUTH AFRICAN television production company, Moviworld, is looking for interesting pets and their interaction with man for an exciting new television series.

By the end of November the team will be working in and around Paarl and Wellington. Pet lovers with interesting pets are invited to contact the production team as soon as possible.

The new series aims at illustrating exceptional and interesting behaviour amongst pets towards one another and towards their owners. It hopes to underline the strong bond of love between man and his pets.

Although the main focus for this series will be on domestic animals, each episode will also contain a story on a wild animal that was domesticated out of the African bush or that is temporarily in the care of humans.

Experts in the field of animal behaviour have helped in the development of this project.

The series is produced and directed by Johan Nel and André van den Heever, two men well-known for documentaries for television. They can be contacted at 082-555-7635.
