DIE gewilde sanger André-Michael is op Donderdag 21 en Vrydag 22 November in die Boland Wynkelder met sy nuwe musiekvertoning, "Eksklusief Ek". Die tema vir die aand is sigeuner.

"Eksklusief Ek" is André-Michael se opwindende nuwe program van ballades en 'n bietjie blues, met 'n paar interessante verrassings hier en daar, soos die 'hip' verwerking van 'n bekende ou Afrikaanse liefdesliedjie, "Jy, jy...".

THE Cape Town City Ballet is looking for classical ballet dancers between the ages of 9 and 11, between 145 and 155 centimetres in height and at a level equivalent to grade 4/5 Cecchetti or RAD, to dance the roles of party children in their forthcoming production of the 'The Nutcracker'.

Auditions will be held on Friday 1 November at 17:00 at the UCT School of Dance, Woolsack Drive, Rosebank.

AN exhibition of art by local students will be held in the Franschhoek Town Hall from 4 to 7 November.

The Mayor of Stellenbosch will open the exhibition and the Belgian Consul will also attend.

It is possible that this exhibition will be taken to the Cultural Centre in Dilbeek, Belgium, with whom Franschhoek is twinned.

The art exhibition is organised by Dirk Scheerlinck, one of the teachers who came to Franschhoek as part of the Belgian Government's five-year teacher and social worker secondment program.

Art teacher Scheerlinck, who together with other art teachers, formed what became known as the Flemish School of Art.

The 1000 pupils that were taught during the first year (1998) held a very successful exhibition in the Town Hall. A similar exhibition was held in November 1999.

Dirk Scheerlinck wished to repeat his experience and arrived earlier this year as voluntary worker, teaching art to 900 pupils in the Wemmershoek, West Eind, Groendal and Dalubuhle junior schools.
